Wednesday Night Sailboat Races on Clear Lake
Ahoy there, looking for something to do Wednesday evenings? Try checking out the Wednesday Night Sailboat Racing. Each week, for more than 40 years now, sailors have been racing around Clear Lake and for the last 15 years Buddy Brown has been at the helm, organizing these races.
Each week, anywhere from forty to sixty
boats, some hoisting colorful spinnakers, participate. Everything from sunfish to multi-hull vessels comprise the 8 different competitive classes.
There are many spots along the shoreline, with great views of the race but Club Classic is a sponsor and that’s where the sailors gather after the competition to swap stories and receive their prizes. Listen in as Buddy Brown tells Talk of the Bay about how they prepare for the weekly sailboat races. For more information, on how you might participate, visit www.ClearlakeRacing.com .
