WATER: A Themed Exhibit, August 21 through September 25 – Clear Lake

Water, water, water everywhere… and we love it. The Arts Alliance Center of Clear Lake will open an exhibit featuring WATER. The exhibit will use sculpture, painting, photography, surf board art and, yes, watercolor to explore this element as a theme as well as a medium for expression.

High speed photography by the ‘Liquid Sculptor’ Martin Waugh captures the beauty of single droplets while Julie Meets, a ‘water sculptor’, uses a single boulder to create flowing waterfalls. Listen in as Lisa Hamilton, Executive Director of TAACCL, tells Talk of the Bay about this exciting exhibit.

The Krist Gallery will highlight the work of the Galveston Bay Foundation. The mission of the Galveston Bay Foundation is to preserve, protect and enhance the natural resources of the Galveston Bay estuarine system and its tributaries for present users and for posterity.

The opening reception for this wonderful exhibition is free and will open on August 21, at 6:30pm – 8:30pm. It is a catered event with live entertainment.

Since 1997, the Arts Alliance Center has hosted monthly multi-media art exhibitions, year-round arts classes for all ages, and live performances ranging from concerts to dramatic recitals. The Arts Alliance Center is located across from NASA’s Johnson Space Center.
