Talk of the Bay

4th of July Weekend Activities

Where do you start when there is so much stuff going on? Why not the Children’s 4th of July Parade in Kemah? The parade was lead by Kemah’s Mayor Matt Wiggins on his vintage Glide Deluxe Bicycle. He led 50-60 kids that had adorned their wheels with the red, white, and blue.

Next up was the Kemah 4th of July Parade. There were plenty of entries. Everything from golf carts to boats

to big ole 4x4’s decorated to the Tee. After the parades everyone headed over to T-Bone Tom’s for the awards. While the City of Kemah passed out awards, Barry (the owner of T-Bones) cut and served up America’s Birthday Cake.

Later we headed over to Nassau Bay to help kick off the American Spirit Boat Parade. That’s when the weather got gnarly. The weather did not keep special guest Congressman Pete Olson away but it did halt the parade. Hat’s off to Jim Stoa of We Care Events. He did a great job of pulling together a great patriotic event that regretfully had to be called off. While there we met a great musician. His name is Karl Stephen Brunig and it is his music playing on our video. Thanks Karl!
