Talk of the Bay

April 30 thru May 2 - 2010 Keels & Wheels Concours d’Elegance - Seabrook

Starting with the preview of automobiles up for sale, to the closing parade, Keels & Wheels Concours d’Elegance was superb. From the amazing collection of classic cars nestled under the trees of the beautiful Lakewood Yacht Club to the wonderful antique boats tied up along the harbor. From the unique land and water

Amphibicar to the mobile party trailer, the event was elegant, interesting, exciting and fun.

Famed novelist Clive Cussler, active classic car enthusiast and underwater explorer was on site the entire weekend. Cussler, the Grand Marshal for this year's Keels and Wheels event, is probably best known for his series of novels about government agent and adventurer Dirk Pitt. An adventurer and enthusiastic underwater explorer, himself, Cussler discovered over 60 shipwreck sites and is the founder of the National Underwater and Marine Agency (NUMA).

Heidi Van Horne, actress, writer, pin-up model, and classic car enthusiast was also a guest at this year’s Keels & Wheels. Heidi is not only a classic car enthusiast but she works under the hood of them too.

The auction on Saturday included everything from a 1911 Duisenberg to the Batmobile, driven by Michael Keaton, the Batskiboat and and the unique Batduck used by the infamous Penquin, played by Danny DeVito, in Batman Returns. Bids from around the world were phoned in adding to the excitement of the auction.

Listen in as Talk of the Bay visited with some of the exhibitors. Be sure to put this one on your calendar for next year…it’s awesome. check out the photos...
