Krewe Babalu
Bigger And Better This Year – Galveston
Krewe Babalu has completely recovered from Hurricane Ike and ready to
enjoy their best year yet celebrating the Mardi Gras Season. “Ike
flooded our warehouse where the floats were kept and displaced several
of our members but they are back and ready to party” said Gladden
Walters, President of the Krewe. “We have several changes this year to
our annual events which will make them bigger and better.”
“The Krewe’s theme this
year is the “Roaring Twenties” so our Royal Ball should be a blast.“
said Walters.
“This is our 5th anniversary for hosting the Krewe Babalu All Krewe
Parade and we are very proud that this parade continues to grow every
year. It’s a parade where individuals can ride one of our floats or
groups can enter their own float.” This parade has grown to be a
favorite on the island where you can be covered with beads and throws.
It is the first parade on the last weekend of Mardi Gras. The Krewe
invites everyone to enjoy this Mardi Gras Season and come participate in
these great functions.
Listen in as Linn Fallon, the Vice President of Krewe Babalu, tells Talk
of the Bay about her Krewe and all of the fun they have.
