Krewe of Gambrinus- Galveston

The Krewe of Gambrinus began, in 1989, to promote and encourage tourism activities in Galveston through the Mardi Gras season, and to contribute to charities committed to the support of children. The Krewe has grown over the past 19 years to include members from Galveston, Harris, Brazoria and Fort Bend counties, and a few from more distant areas of Texas.

Listen in as George Black, Captain of the Krewe of Gambrinus, tells Talk of the Bay, about the krewe’s year round activities including the traditional mardi gras den party and the coronation ball. And, of course, the famous King of Gambrinus Lights up the Night parade.

This not to be missed event, is scheduled for Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 6pm. With 15 lighted floats and 15 bands this parade will travel down the seawall from 22nd to Central Cities Blvd. If you are looking for a mardi gras parade, this is one to put on your calendar.
