March 11 – Rodeo Bus Trip – Clear Lake
Brad Paisley will entertain about 500 of the bay area’s rodeo goers, this year. On March 11, the NASA, Clear Creek, Friendswood rodeo committee will host the annual bus ride to the rodeo. Ticket holders will gather at Hooters on I45 & Nasa Rd 1 for Wings & Beer then load up on buses and head off to the rodeo. Once at the stadium, these merry makers enjoy the concert and the fun happenings at the Corral Club. Year Round – The Arts Alliance Center of Clear Lake – Nassau Bay

Year Round – Heart of Sailing – Kemah
The Heart of Sailing foundation is a non-profit charitable 501(c)(3) international organization which provides a nautical adventure and sailing recreational therapy FREE for cognitively impaired (e.g., Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, etc.) children. March 27 - Kemah Pan Jam – Kemah
Pan Jam is a collection of authentic Caribbean steel drum, calypso music and reggae singers who have performed all over the world, at events ranging from backyard parties to Presidential receptions. On March 27, the streets of the Kemah Lighthouse District come to life with the lively beat of steel drums and Caribbean style music at the annual Kemah Pan Jam Steel Drum Festival. Listen in as Sandra Williams, coordinator of the event, tells Talk of the Bay a little bit about what we can expect for the day. |

April 25 – Champagne Wishes and Caviar Dreams – League City
The FantaSea Yacht is the perfect setting for the 3rd annual “Champagne Wishes and Caviar Dreams” charity dinner cruise. This dinner cruise benefits the Jeanette Williams Foundation for Children’s Cancer Research. And some of the proceeds are used to send children from UTMB in Galveston’s “Rainbow Connection” to Camp for All; camping grounds located in the Brenham area. Listen in as Dianne Troop, the founder of the Jeanette Williams Foundation tells Talk of the Bay about this cruisin’ good time around Clear Lake. |

May 14 thru 16 – Strawberry Festival – Pasadena
It’s Strawberry time and we’re ready! The Pasadena Strawberry Festival is a three day event held annually in May.
Held on the 106 acre grounds of the Pasadena Convention Center and Municipal Fairgrounds Complex, this award winning event offers a wide variety of both indoor and outdoor activities, attractions and entertainment.Listen in as veteran Bert Muston, Executive Director of the Strawberry Festival tells Talk of the Bay about this year’s festival and all of the events leading up to this weekend of fun for everyone. |

March 6 – Bay Cup I - Seabrook
This is the 5th year for the Bay Cup series, which includes two races…..Bay Cup I (March each year) and Bay Cup II (August each year). These two events offer the opportunity to sail in Galveston and Trinity Bays in a competitive “ handicap rating” format. March 5 – Meet The Artists at Butler Longhorn Museum – League City
Butler Longhorn Museum is now one step closer to the official opening scheduled for May 22. And in support of the museum, talented artists, from the bay area, donated works to be sold to museum visitors, supporting the educational exhibit at the museum. Feb. 19 Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Volunteer Party League City
Several hundred volunteers and Trade Partners gathered, at Hugh & Jeff’s Car Wash, to celebrate a reunion for the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Kemah Style. Live music, drink specials and video clips of the home build kept the fun happening throughout the evening. Blu Shields, Patrick Henderson, the lead builders for the project, and Larry and Melissa Beach, the recipients of the home, also attended the event. January 14 – Extreme Makeover: Home Edition – Wrap Party & Press Conference - Kemah
The Beach home has been built, the filming was about done and it was time to kick back a little. Blu Shields, Patrick Henderson and the Build Team all go together for a little celebration. A little later in the evening Tracy, Paul and Michael came by after their shoot and enjoyed the evening with their friends from Kemah. January 14 – Extreme Makeover: Home Edition - Kemah
We got back to the site early Thursday morning to see the overnight crew working feverishly in a race against the clock. Some of the outside trim still needed to be hung and the inside was still being painted. For the next few hours, all of us anxiously we moved furniture into the house, trying to avoid those volunteers still working on the walls. Listen in to Talk of the Bay and check out our photos. |

Extreme Makeover: Home edition – Day 7
A sight to behold! The front columns and shutters are now painted white, landscaping still in progress, palm trees planted, oak trees arriving, and the fence around the property is in place. Appliances are being installed while painters, paper hangers, and floor installers are busy inside adding finishing touches. Extreme Makeover: Home edition – Day 6
We have a roof over our heads, the driveway is in place and the eye–catching exterior is a grabbing custom “aqua marine” color. The softness of the shade is akin to the sky and gives the house a warm, inviting touch. There is something else within the house painted a similar color called “Kemah Blue,” but you will have to wait to see the show to see what it is! Extreme Makeover: Home edition – Day 5
The Beach family home is looking so good! With the roof almost entirely in place, windows and doors are intact. Drywall is in and being dried. The inside is starting to take shape but that is all we can reveal about the inside until you see the show.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition – Day 3
Concrete, a lot of it…The foundation was framed and ready for the pumpers to pour the concrete; all was ready and on schedule. Then the weather hit. The hoses on the concrete trucks, all 20 of them, froze solid. Laborers hand carried buckets of water and started dumping the water into the concrete mix. Fortunately, the Kemah Fire Department showed up and took care of the problem. They literally hosed down the concrete and the pumpers started working. YEA! there's more... |

Hundreds of people in bright blue T-shirts marched up Delesandri Lane in Kemah today chanting “Build that house!” They were all taking part in the “Braveheart Walk,” a pep-rally ritual that begins every building project on the popular ABC television show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Congratulations to the Beach family getting brand new home! Ty Pennington and the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition television crew paid an unexpected visit to Larry and Melissa Beach and their 13 children this morning as they pulled into their driveway at 1013 Delesandri Lane in Kemah (Galveston, County) TX to deliver the exciting news. The excitement of the family, all 15 of them was fun to watch.
