The Butler Longhorn Museum Launches 2010 Educational Programs
Texas Longhorn cattle, polishing their leadership skills or just having fun, the museum has the curriculum, workshops and summer camps for you!
The museum’s goal is to create a popular outreach educational program for all ages, develop educational partnerships and provide weekly educational programs for the interested public.
The 2010 educational schedule will offer many choices including history, arts, sciences and motivational leadership. Curriculum and age groups currently developed include 2nd grade Social Studies, 3rd grade science, 4th grade Social Studies, 7th grade Social Studies, 7th grade science, adult leadership, history and agriculture. All instructional programs are designed and facilitated by certified educators and professionals.
The curriculum has been aligned with the current Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). A schedule will be published for your review in August 2010. The museum staff is looking forward to serving the educational needs of the community.
For those who are interested in increasing their knowledge of Texas history, understanding the science of the The Butler Longhorn Museum is located in the heart of League City’s Historical District at 1220 Coryell St. The museum is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. Admission fees are $3.00 for senior citizens, $3.00 for children under 12 and $6 for adults. Guided group tours may also be scheduled.
