TAKS Passing Rate In CCISD Improves
The preliminary TAKS results for the Clear Creek Independent School District show the majority of scores improved or held steady when compared to the 2008-2009 school year. One area which showed significant improvement was high school juniors.
This spring, significantly more juniors at the District’s six high schools passed the TAKS exams they'll need to graduate next year. This year 94 percent of Clear Creek ISD's 11th graders passed all four of the state's exit tests, compared to 88 percent last year. The state average for Texas juniors TAKS passing rate is 82 percent.
“I am excited about the progress we have made with the state assessment in every student group and on every test,” said Superintendent of Schools Greg Smith, Ph D., “I am particularly pleased in the increase in math and science scores at the secondary schools. It is also further evidence that no matter which of the 13 cities you live in within CCISD you are guaranteed a quality education. I would like to thank the students, staff, and parents for making CCISD the largest high performing school district in Texas.”
