February 13 – Saturday at Mardi Gras – Galveston
Saturday afternoon, hundreds of folks lined up along the Galveston Railroad Museum, on 25th Street. All of the parade participants were in costume and all were getting excited about the Z Krewe Processional. Members from several different Krewes joined in on the fun of strolling through Galveston’s historical downtown district while thousands of spectators waved and yelled to get beads thrown in their direction. The parade paused for a few minutes in front of the Trumpet Building as the King and Queen of Z Krewe honored their court and the spectators.
Zestival II was in full swing in the second floor of the Trumpet Building where Zanies and their guests enjoyed the view of the Strand from the balcony. Tens of thousands of beads were thrown as spectators completed flooded the Strand area, to catch the precious treasures.
Editor’s Note: Once again, Eddie and I would like to thank all of the fun loving bay area Krewes. Your hospitality and friendliness is wonderfully contagious. All of you did one heck of a job. Happy Mardi Gras.
