August 17 – Kick Off By The Creek – League City
Kick Off By the Creek is the League City Chamber’s tribute to the start of the Texas High School football season. Clear Creek and Dickinson Independent School Districts provide the coaches, players, drill teams, bands and cheerleaders as the Chamber and the community come together to celebrate.
Proceeds from the 2009 event enabled the Chamber to present a $250.00 check to the Dickinson, Clear Brook, Clear Creek, Clear Lake and Clear Springs Football Booster Clubs. The money will help pay for scholarships. “We are thrilled to be able to give back to our community,” said League City Chairman Johnette Norman, “Supporting our students is a top priority as this area is committed to growing our own workforce.”
The community has the opportunity to cheer on their favorite team as the area football coaches vie for the Kick Off By the Creek Spirit Award on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Education Village during the luncheon pep rally.
