The Webster Online Road Construction Update

Beginning August 25, Harris County will begin construction of the Bay Area Traffic mitigation project. The construction will occur along Bay Area Boulevard between I-45 and Highway 3 and the construction is scheduled to last for 90 days.

The project consists of modifying existing median openings and making them left turn only lanes; adding right turn lanes at Texas Ave. and at Gatebrook Drive, expanding some existing left turn lanes and adding a signalized intersection at Live Oak Street and Bay Area Boulevard. Once construction is complete, the flow of traffic in this area should be very much improved, but until the construction is complete, motorists can expect temporary lane closures and delays throughout this area.

The Harris County contractor is scheduled to begin on the eastbound lanes just north of Gatebrook Drive and work their way eastward towards Hwy 3. The contractor will then turn around (starting at Hwy. 3) and work their way westward towards I-45.
